However, if we are fortunate enough to gain some traction while we have that short burst of energy to start, we often shift our mind-set. This shift in mind-set puts a knot in the stomach. The knot is the tension that we feel when the pursuit transforms from a passion to something that we need to make happen. The knot takes us mentally away from the supper table while our children are talking to us. The knot takes us mentally away from vacation with our spouses. The knot takes us mentally away from fishing trips and boxing classes with friends.

What if—instead of focusing on how our projects make us feel—we focus on how our projects make other people feel? What if we looked at our projects through the lens of energetic legacy?
