Small Wins Are Bigger Than Big Wins
The big wins are great.
But the small wins are even better.
Big wins are the ones that we seem to celebrate with other people. We go out for a nice meal with our spouses and children after landing a new, six-figure contract. We go out with our buddies after winning a championship.
But most big wins are simply compilations of small wins. Those small wins are even better than the big wins, because you can celebrate them in your own head every single day. Just putting pen to paper and writing down some words is a small win. Taking your 10,000th step of the day is a small win. Smiling at your child as he or she walks down the stairs with major bedhead is a small win. Can you imagine yourself celebrating small wins each day?
The nice thing about the small wins is that you don’t need anyone else to celebrate them with. You can sit back, put your feet up on the humpty, a Newfoundland version of an ottoman (Do they still make those?), rest your head in your hands, behind your head, and just smile.
What three small wins can you celebrate right now?
